Case omschrijving: Next TV & Film

Projectbeschrijving
More and more consumers have SmartTVs at home, complemented by laptops or tablets which can function as second screens, for instance to explore related information alongside a TV programme. Broadcast companies want to provide their viewers with richer interactive television experiences, and are looking to enhance the attractiveness of their content. The European project LinkedTV works on integrating information on the web with television programming and to this end has developed LinkedCulture.
Voor/over product of dienst
LinkedCulture is based on Tussen Kunst & Kitsch (similar to Antiques Roadshow) of Dutch public broadcaster AVROTROS. LinkedCulture offers extra information about art objects on the show, allowing users to view background information, related artworks and related fragments from Tussen Kunst & Kitsch’ rich history. LinkedTV has developed a workflow based on semantic technologies and Linked Open Data that automates the process of enriching programmes with Web content.
Doelgroep(en)
LinkedCulture is primarily aimed at Tussen Kunst & Kitsch viewers.
