In it’s top 28 markets Shell wants to engage with 600+ million ‘on the go’ motorists with smartphones, at the right time and in the right place. MOBGEN developed a global mobile application architecture that is available across these 28 markets, in 17 languages, taking responsibility for the strategy & business case, design, UX-tests, architecture-design, system-development, system-integration, front-end development, maintenance, deployment and analytics.

The platform consists of the following elements:
A CMS to launch or switch-off specific functionalities by market & manage content
Profile database with data-capture
Mediation layer to connect to 27 back-end systems
Integration of 13 different loyalty schemes and global CRM system
A global (location based) notification-system integrated with loyalty data
Native frontend apps for iOS & Android launched in 28 markets, 17 languages
Analytics dashboard for real-time monitoring of performance & usage
Doelgroep(en)
1. Motorists with a smartphone: Shell Retail is targeting 629M road vehicle owners in 28 markets. In those markets there are 638M smartphones in circulation.
2. 110M+ members of Shell loyalty schemes around the world; users currently get a physical card (which they often forget). Interaction takes place via desktop. The loyalty card services are now integrated in the mobile app.
3. Shell’s Fleetcard owners. The mobile apps offer a station locator and integration of the feet-card over time.
