Friction is a service consisting of mobile app, that gives people of all abilities interested in making cities more accessible opportunity to report and point at problems of the accessibility in their urban area. Friction aims to cooperate with different institutions for disabled people or institutions dealing with urban accessibility, to make sure that the problem gets the attention of such institutions and possibly gets solved to make urban experience accessible for all the people.

The app allows users to upload picture of the friction they feel needs improvement in order to keep the urban area as accessible as possible. The friction post consists of picture, location geotag , description of the problem written by user who uploaded the friction and category it belongs to. These categories are problems for people with movement impairment, vision impairment and hearing impairment.
The Friction primarily targets disabled people age between 15 and 30 who are comfortable using smartphones and are interested in keeping the urban area they live in as accessible as possible. They are positive towards new technologies and want to make their environment a better place for all the people.
The focus of the Friction service is on people with movement, vision and hearing impairment.
